Day Wise Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Negombo

Arrive at Colombo International Airport. Here, you will be met by a designated chauffer guide from Lakpura Travels. After the formalities at the airport you will be escorted to your air conditioned Vehicle and proceed to Negombo and check in to the hotel and relax. (Travel Time 20 to 30 mins)

Day 2 Negombo - Kosgoda - Balapitiya - Mirissa

After breakfast at the hotel check out and proceed to Kosgoda and visit Turtle Hatchery. (Travel Time 2 to 2 ½ hrs)
Visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery on the Southwestern coast of Sri Lanka. Learn more about the five endangered sea turtle species that come to the shores of Sri Lanka to nest. Learn how the Kosgoda Turtle Care Program helps protect the nests until they hatch and increases the chances of survival for the babies. Get a chance to see, touch and feed baby turtles; or even injured adult turtles that the Turtle Hatchery cares for.
Thereafter proceed to Balapitiya and go on lovely boat safari in Madu River. (Travel Time 20 to 30 mins)
Go on a wonderful boat ride down the Madu River with its flourishing ecosystem. Pass through the secretive passages created by the mangroves. See the basking crocodiles and water monitors. Visit one of the small islands with its cinnamon harvesting natives. Enjoy the restorative qualities of the famous fish massage. Observe the waterbirds in their natural habitats.
Thereafter proceed to Galle and visit Old Colonial City of Galle. (Travel Time 50 to 60 mins)
Explore the secrets of Galle where the Portuguese and Dutch made their headquarters. Visit the Galle Fort which is one of the best preserved fortifications in Asia. View the museums of Galle and the lighthouse. Walk through the cobblestoned streets with their Dutch names and listen to your guide tell their stories. Relax with a king coconut or a cup of tea caressed by a breeze of the tropics. On completion proceed to Mirissa, check in to the hotel and relax. (Travel Time 50 to 60 mins)

Day 3 Mirissa - Galle - Mirissa - Yala

Early morning with a packed breakfast proceed to Mirissa harbor to go on whale watching.
This five-hour tour gives you an opportunity to see the biggest mammals on earth, the whales, in their natural habitat. Get a chance to see blue whales, sperm whales and fin whales as they swim in the waters to the south of Sri Lanka. Gain more knowledge about the whales as a species from a qualified naturalist and learn to identify them. This tour gives you a responsible whale watching experience with a minimal imprint on nature.
On completion, return to the hotel, check out and proceed Yala. On arrival to Yala check in to the hotel and relax. (Travel Time 3 to 3 ½ hrs)

Day 4 Yala - Udawalawe

Early in the morning proceed to Yala National Park to go on a lovely jeep safari in Yala National Park.
This amazing Safari offers the opportunity to visit Yala National Park, the second largest in the island based off the Southeastern coast of Sri Lanka. Get a chance to see the famous Sri Lankan leopards, indigenous wild water buffalo, Sri Lankan Sloth Bear and large herds of Sri Lankan Elephants. The park is also home to many other species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates.
After the safari, return to the hotel, relax and check out of the hotel and proceed to Udawalawe and check in to the hotel. (Travel Time 1½ to 2 hrs)
The Hakgala Botanical Gardens was one of the pleasure gardens of King Ravana. This garden was expanded during the British period and has a wide variety of flowers including an excellent collection of orchids. This is the exotic pleasure garden where King Ravana kept the depressed Sita, insisting that she marries him. It was here where the heartwarming meeting took place between her and Hanuman, who brought her Ramas ring with the news that Rama was looking for her. He offered to carry her back but she refused saying it would be an insult to Ramas honor if she did so. Part of this majestic garden still exists. It is also said that Hanuman nearly destroyed it in order to prove to Ravana of the forces against him.

Day 5 Udawalawe - Negombo

Early in the morning proceed to Udawalawe National Park to go on a lovely jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park.
Enjoy a safari which would give you a chance to explore the amazing Udawalawe National Park. Travel through the marshes, forests and grasslands of the park that was created as a sanctuary for wildlife in the 1970s. See the water birds and Sri Lankan elephants for which the park is famed. Catch glimpses of the other mammals and birds, as well as the reptiles, amphibians and butterflies.
After the morning safari, return to the hotel, relax and check out of the hotel and proceed to Negombo and check in to the hotel. (Travel Time 4 to 4 ½ hrs)

Day 6 Negombo - Airport

After breakfast at the hotel check out and proceed to the airport for your departure, FLT
