Day Wise Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Negombo

Arrive at Colombo International Airport. Here, you will be met by a designated chauffer guide from SriLankan Holidays . After the formalities at the airport you will be escorted to your air conditioned Vehicle and proceed to Negombo and check in to the hotel and relax. (Travel Time 3 ½ to 4 hrs)

Day 2 Negombo - Wilpattu - Anuradhapura

After breakfast at the hotel check out and proceed to Chilaw and visit Munneswaram Kovil. (Travel Time 50 to 60 mins)
Tread through the hallowed halls of Munneswaram, one of the ancient five Eeshwarams of Sri Lanka, dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva. See the beautifully detailed architecture which dates back to approximately three centuries; while the temple itself has a recorded history of over a millennia. View the Sivalingam in the main shrine, which survived the destruction of the Portuguese. Listen to many legends; both of the Hindus and the Buddhists that surround this legendary temple.
Thereafter proceed to Wilpattu National Park to go on lovely jeep safari in the National Park. (Travel Time 1 ½ to 2 hrs) Feel the call of the wild with the Wilpattu National Park Safari. Get a chance to catch sight of the elusive Sri Lankan Leopard and famous Sri Lankan Elephant. See hundreds of other wildlife such as deer, buffalo, monkeys, crocodiles, and rare birds. Get the photographs of a lifetime as you become one with nature.
On completion of the safari proceed to Anuradhapura, check in to the hotel and relax.

Day 3 Anuradhapura - Wilpattu - Anuradhapura

Early in the morning proceed to Wilpattu National Park to enjoy a full day safari in Willpattu National Park.
On completion of the safari return to the hotel and relax.

Day 4 Anuradhapura - Polonnaruwa - Mirissa - Sigiriya

After breakfast at the hotel check out and proceed to Polonnaruwa and visit Ancient Kingdom. (Travel Time 1 ½ to 2 hrs)
Visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, which was the second major capital of Sri Lanka. Walk through the ruins of the city that flourished between the 10th to the 13th century AD. View important monuments such as Gal Vihara, Vatadage, the lotus bath, Lankathilaka Temple and the statue of King Parakramabahu whose reign was considered the golden age of Polonnaruwa. Get to know more about Sri Lanka's ancient history.
Thereafter proceed to Minneriya National Park and go on a lovely jeep safari in Minneriya National Park. (Travel Time 30 to 40 mins)
This safari takes you on a ride through the Minneriya National Park. Enjoy the sight of over 150 elephants congregating in one place during the famous Great Elephant Gathering, which happens in the dry season between May to October. In addition to elephants, get a chance to also see many mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians in the scrublands, forests and other areas.
On completion of the safari proceed to Sigiriya, check in to the hotel and relax.

Day 5 Sigiriya - Negombo

After breakfast at the hotel check out and visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress. (Travel time 20 to 30 mins)
Climb the 5th century AD rock fortress, Sigiriya, where the King Kasyapa ruled. Walk through the entrance framed by the paws of a lion that is quite appropriate for its name, ' the Lion Rock'. View the beautiful unfading murals that brought Sigiriya its fame. Climb the steep staircase to see the terraced gardens and still-working cisterns. Walk through the tunnels leading to the palace as you get a feel for times long past.
Thereafter proceed to Negombo, on arrival to Negombo check in to the hotel and relax. (Travel Time 3 ½ to 4 hrs)
Later in the evening go on a Bird Watching tour in Muthurajawela Sanctuary. (Travel Time 20 to 30 mins)
This boat safari gives you an opportunity to watch the avifauna of Muthurajawela, one of the most famous bird sanctuaries in Sri Lanka. Go on a wonderfully relaxing boat ride on the lagoon of Negombo. See the complex ecosystem of the marshlands. Watch the many water birds and others through your binoculars. Get the assistance of your professional bird guide to identify and learn more about them. Enjoy a picnic breakfast as you drift along the lagoon surrounded by nature.
On completion return to the hotel and relax.

Day 6 Negombo - Airport

After breakfast at the hotel check out and proceed to the airport for your departure, FLT
