NUWARA ELIYA

Cool, rugged and picturesque, 1,890 metres above sea level, Nuwara Eliya was modelled on an English village in the early 19th century. Its period houses, trim lawns, pretty flower gardens and scenic landscape captivate visitors. Set in the heart of the tea country, a visit to a tea estate is a must. Nuwara Eliya also has Asia's finest hill golf course, rainbow trout in its clear, cold streams and is within visiting distance of Horton Plains, a beautiful high plateau, sanctuary of rare highland birds, butterfies, orchids and wild-flowers and also the 3,000 ft. sheer precipice known as World's End, one of the worls's great natural sights.
