DAMBULLA

Dambulla, a huge, 1st century B.C. rock-temple complex, is an archaeological treasure. The rock-temple which is a series of caves, has a painted area of more than 20,000 sq. ft. of Buddhist murals; a huge 47 ft. rock-cut sleeping Buddha dominates the main cave.
